Director Krish and actress Anushka have been very good friends for quite some time. Though they had done only one film Vedam, in which Anushka played the lead role, both of them have been maintaining good relationship.
It has been six years since the film was released and now, Krish wanted to rope Anushka into his latest film Gautamiputra Satakarni, starring Balakrishna.
He thought Anuskha would suit the best for the role in this big budget film, as she had done similar roles in historical films like Baahubali and Rudhrama Devi. But, somehow, Anushka did not evince interest in this film. She had earlier acted with Balakrishna in “Okka Magadu” but now, she is not keen on being his heroine in this film.
Surprisingly, Anushka is not so busy these days to deny call-sheets to Krish’s film. Compared to her initial days, the number of films she is doing now are very less. She is very selective in signing the films.
Very recently, she has given green signal to director K Raghavender Rao to act in his biopic film Hathiram Baba, in which Nagarjuna is playing the lead role.
So, refusing to act with Balakrishna and okaying Nagarjuna’s film is naturally a big news in the industry. There is a rumour that a hero was behind Anushka’s decision to reject Balakrishna film.
In any case, her decision has terribly hurt Krish. He then approached Shriya for this role and she immediately agreed to do.
