When someone hires a top music director, expectations are naturally high. If the output is disappointing, the director often can't openly complain.
Anirudh is undoubtedly a talented music director, but the question remains—why hasn't he been able to deliver the same quality of music for Telugu films as he has for Tamil films?
His best work for Telugu cinema is still considered to be in Agnyaathavaasi. After that, he contributed a few good songs for films like Gang Leader.
For the latest movie Devara, he composed two songs—one is a hero elevation song and the other a duet. Both have become popular.
However, the third song didn’t resonate well with the audience. There’s also the Ayudha Puja song, which is rumored to be quite impressive. We’ll have to wait and see.
Regarding the song "Davudi," the response has been largely negative, not just from fans but from everyone. The team eventually decided to use the song only for the rolling titles.
Reportedly, when close friends mentioned this to director Koratala, he reluctantly replied, "What can I do, that's what he gave."
The background score in the trailer was decent but not extraordinary.
However, it remains to be seen if Anirudh can deliver the kind of signature background music that this generation expects from the movie. If he can, the music could become a significant asset for the film.
