Kabali is once again proving the power of a star at the box office. The film is doing mind-boggling business all over in spite of poor content and bad talk.
Kabali has collected over $ 4 Million in USA/Canada and has high chances to collect $ 5 Million in this territory in its entire theatrical run. Overseas buyer who has bought the rights of Kabali (all versions) for 8.5 crore is smiling all the way to the bank.
Kabali has proved that pre release hype and a superstar could make wonders at the box office irrespective of the quality of the product. Now overseas buyers are going insane and betting big on upcoming big films.
As per sources a distributor has offered 12 crore for overseas distribution rights of Chiranjeevi’s upcoming 150th film.
Distributors are expecting Chiru’s 150 to have tremendous pre release buzz as it is Megastar’s reentry movie. But 12 crore is a huge amount to recover if the film fails to live up to expectations.
For example Sardaar Gabbar Singh was bought for 10.5 crore and Brahmotsavam for 13 crore by the overseas buyers. They have lost a lot on both the movies.
Surprisingly makers of Chiru150 have turned down the offer as they are expecting 15 Crore from overseas rights!
