Nursing a strained relationship with the Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, the popular star Junior NTR is understood to have decided to keep himself away from the campaigning or any other political activity in the next Assembly elections.
Junior NTR has been telling his close friends and aides that he was feeling the impact of the ego clash between his father N Harikrishna and Naidu. He detests the idea of being sucked into the group politics of TDP.
“He is busy with his films and wants to spend his spare time with his family and friends. He does not want to get into politics at this stage,” the sources close to him say.
The mass hero has sent signals to the TDP leadership that he will not be available for campaigning or any activity for the 2014 elections. His family, particularly his mother, feels that the TDP leadership had exploited Junior NTR in the previous elections and dumped him after getting him to campaign for the party.
The subsequent differences between Naidu and Harikrishna have made the matters worse. Though politically ambitious, Junior NTR has set his eyes on the 2019 elections and is making plans to take over the reins of the party sometime in distant future.
