What is the market of Nandamuri Balakrishna? He is definitely king in mass areas like Ceded and in some districts in Andhra.
He sure does have created some records in these territories but his movies don’t create records in Nizam and overseas markets.
His films hardly have any takers in North India or other metro cities in India.
The biggest hit blockbuster in his career “Gautamiputra Satakarni” raked in just about Rs 50 Cr worldwide. The India theatrical revenue of “Gautamiputra Satakarni” is just about Rs 40 Cr.
Given such market, any buyer would dare pay Rs 80 Cr to his film’s rights?
But the makers of NTR Biopic have been leaking information that some corporate company has offered such hefty amounts for the rights.
Recently media is abuzz with the reports that Sony Pictures has come forward to pay Rs 80 Cr for India theatrical rights of Balakrishna starrer “NTR Biopic” that is being directed by Krish.
Director Krish doesn’t have history of delivering a hit beyond Rs 50 Cr mark. Then how would a corporate company come to pay such huge amount?
It is clear that the makers are trying to build some hype around this project so that they can sell off the rights for handsome amount.
“NTR Biopic” narrates the life story of Late NT Rama Rao and it has Balakrishna essaying his father’s role.
The film is also co-produced by Balakrishna along with Sai Korrepati and Vishnu Induri. The biopic is set for Jan 09, 2019 release.
