Dhanush is the youngest star vis-a-vis the top actors of Tamil cinema. With his latest film VIP, he has found a new position at the box-office and this has not gone down well with stars such as Suriya, Vijay and Ajith.
With Dhanush's film minting over 50 crore at the box-office, all eyes are on Suriya's Anjaan to find out if he can beat the former at the ticket window.
Apparently, Anjaan has already done a business worth 80 crore from distribution and satellite rights. But the film will only declared a hit if it makes over 50 crore at the box-office because it's a high-budget film and the stakes involved are very high.
With the kind of buzz that "Anjaan" is creating, the film is sure to dominate the screens in Tamil Nadu.
Trade experts will be eager to see whether the Suriya starrer will be able to beat "VIP" collections and emerge as the highest grosser film of 2014.
Since the film is releasing in more number of screens than "VIP", it is expected to beat "VIP" opening weekend collections.
If Suriya can't beat Dhanush at the box-office, we'll have a new box-office king for the next few months until Vijay's Kaththi slated for Diwali release.
