Manam is a huge hit and all credit goes to Nagarjuna and family. While all the cast was much appreciated, Nag’s son Naga Chaitanya got good reviews from media and audiences.
But the industry folks are quick to point out that Chaitu is yet to prove himself as a solo hero. In Manam, he had the support of his father Nagarjuna and his grandfather ANR. Earlier, in Tadakha, there was Sunil to balance his act.
Even for his first hit, En Maaya Chesave, 100 per cent credit went to Samantha. Similarly, 100% Love was an out an out director’s film.
Incidentally, Naga Chaitanya failed every single time he tried to do a solo film.
For instance, his films like Josh, Dada and Bezawada have all been box office duds, which is why the industry feels he is only capable of pulling off multi-hero films.
Right now, he has Oka Laila Kosam lined up for release and he is the solo hero in the film.
Despite Manam’s success, industry insiders say the success of Oka Laila Kosam will decide if Naga Chaitanya will have a long innings in Tollywood. After watching his performance in Manam, we only hope Chaitanya will be able to pull off Oka Laila Kosam.
