Long, long ago, K Raghavendra Rao had directed a film titled Sahasaveerudu Saagara Kanya. Shilpa Shetty had acted as a mermaid in the film.
News from Bollywood is that Ileana has been offered a similar role by a producer there.
Apparently, a production house which intends to make a movie with heavy graphics had approached Ileana to play the part. It seems they felt she would be a perfect choice for the role given her tall and slim figure.
Though Ileana is not very convinced about the role, the producers have been trying to convince her that it would bring her success. She was also shown sketches of how she would look as a mermaid, it is said. But acting as a mermaid is not an easy task. She will have to wear a special costume which will squeeze her legs and she will be soaked in water for long periods. Last heard, the Goan beauty is not said to be too keen on playing the part.
After shifting base from Tollywood to Bollywood, Ileana became curvy and got a hot photo shoot done. But it is being said that her efforts did not get her very many roles. And she might never give tough competition to the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranuat.
So those close to her have suggested that she will be better off playing the mermaid. But it’s Ileana’s decision that is going to be final.
