The caste war between Kamma and Kapu communities is always on a high. Though not much of it comes into the open, many have vouched that it still exists.
Recently, another incident has come to light (although off late) from the Tollywood circle which goes to show how Kamma biggies ended up betraying Ramcharan Tej.
All this happened during finalizing the list of winners for the Nandi awards 2009 last year. It is heard that jury panel to decide the winners had maximum Kamma members. As a result, Ramcharan was voted out of the list despite his riveting performance in the film ‘Magadheera’.
On the other hand, the Kamma gang reportedly gave maximum votes to Dasari Narayana Rao and got him the best actor award. This led to a perception that Dasari lobbied against his own community member and grabbed the award. All in all, the Kamma coterie scored a victory over the Kapus during that (with ‘two birds in single shot’ formula), say the cine folks. Yes, Ram Charan missed genuine award and received condolences while Dasari got the undeserving award and received huge criticism.
