Film-making is a combined effort of various people working in different departments. Every time a film gets made, the entire unit including the spot boy, the lead actor and actress, have their respective roles to play at the precise time.
It is the coordinated effort that ensures the project gets completed on time and any weak link will delay production and up the costs. But let’s stop here as we are not talking business of films. One actress who is really bothered about not being heard is Charmee.
She says despite the industry thriving on symbiotic existence, the heroines are not accorded due respect, especially when it comes to making suggestions and giving creative inputs.
Charmee says she used to be very enthusiastic during her early days, but every time she came up with a suggestion, one director totally discouraged her by being sarcastic and saying that it was a long way to go before she could dream of becoming a director.
Talk in Film Nagar is that the director could have been Krishna Vamsi, though Charmee is not taking any names.
Poor girl, during another shoot she apparently wanted to do her role a certain way and was scolded by her director saying that he was not creatively challenged.
She says, after these bad experiences, she decided to simply follow what her director says without questioning the output.
“I feel very bad when a film fails. Some directors don’t even say we will think about it. That’s when I feel hurt,” says Charmee.
Don’t be surprised if she takes up direction soon.
