However, the company thought that instead of selling it to someone, releasing it in their own banner was more feasible. It is heard that few key persons got heavy commissions from every theater ie on paper, the rental figure is something and the actual rent is something else. In the case of ‘Raavan’, if an outsider had purchased it, the publicity would have been outstanding.
Our Telugu producers are known to move heaven and earth in publicity so one can imagine what they would do when Aishwarya Bachchan’s film is arriving. For every useless movie, they hold fifteen press meets, have double the ads. But for ‘Villain’, only one press meet happened. If outsiders had bought the film, the collections would not have been so bad. Though Ash may not come again and again, with stars like Vikram, Priyamani, Prithviraj roped in, the job would have been easy. Moreover, Priyamani lives in Hyderabad only.
The good side is that, though the concerned commission king brought losses to the organization, the outsiders have not lost a penny. That is something appreciable.
