In Tollywood, there's buzz about the producers from Prime Show Entertainment, who said they bought the movie "Double iSmart" for Rs 55 crores and provided an additional five crore returnable advance.
Speculation suggests, calculating on any liberal grounds, "Double iSmart" will not generate more than Rs 45 crores on the sale of theatrical distribution rights in the Telugu states, Karnataka, and overseas markets, based on the present market condition and track record of the makers.
Rumors suggest Puri-Charmi and Prime Show might be doing something unconventional in secrecy to market the film.
Amid these doubts, rumors emerged that Prime Show might not have actually bought the movie.
Chaitanya Niranjan Reddy, the head at Prime Show, clarified that many parties were interested in releasing the movie with advances, but she agreed to a non-returnable advance and so she was given the rights. She insisted there was no deception and admitted that she took the risk.
Reddy explained they initially planned a solo release, but with many films now out on same day, situation looks risky. Despite this, she said her team is committed and confident the film will be a hit, ensuring their investment is recouped.
