Ravi Teja feels he is one of the biggest stars, but box-office results show a different picture. He has taken Rs 9 Cr remuneration for both “Raja The Great” and “Touch Chesi Chudu”. While “Raja The Great” was an average grosser, the latter was an utter flop.
“Touch Chesi Chudu” is most likely to end its business with mere Rs 10 Cr on Rs 27 Cr investment.
Producers stopped approaching him as he was demanding high remuneration and that was when he went into hibernation for one year.
After taking a gap year, he made a come back with “Raja The Great”, but looks like things have not improved much for him.
He recently took Rs 10 Cr for his current film being directed by Kalyan Krishna and his next movie that is to be directed by Sreenu Vaitla. But trade pundits say he doesn’t deserve more than Rs 5 Cr given the results of his movies.
Actors like Nani and Sharwanand who take Rs 4 – 5 Cr per movie are relatively more successful. Both Nani and Sharwanand’s movies collect a minimum of Rs 20 Cr from theatricals and their budgets are also less.
Ravi Teja’s films are made with Rs 25 Cr budget and he takes home Rs 10 Cr, but he hasn't been giving hits of late.
The disastrous result of “Touch Chesi Chudu” has once again proved that Mass Maharaja is yet to gain his form at box-office.
