The Tamil Film Producers Council has raised concerns about several prominent stars in their industry prioritizing pan-Indian projects and Telugu films over Tamil projects to secure higher remuneration.
The council specifically pointed out that Dhanush has not shown proper regard for Tamil film producers, despite having received advance payments from them.
Dhanush has been receiving remuneration ranging from Rs 25 crore to Rs 30 crore for his work in films produced by Tollywood.
For instance, he agreed to star in Sithara Entertainment's movie "Sir" for a payment of Rs 25 crore, whereas his salary for Tamil films has been less than Rs 15 crore.
He is now being paid Rs 30 crore for his role in "Kubera," a film produced by the Narangs and directed by Sekhar Kammula.
Attracted by the substantial payments from Telugu producers, Dhanush is increasingly inclined to accept more projects in the Tollywood industry.
As a result, he has been withholding dates from his previous Tamil producers who had given him advance payments. This issue has now become a significant concern in the Kollywood industry.
Ajith, along with other Tamil stars, has recently agreed to star in a film produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
Thalapathy Vijay previously collaborated with Dil Raju on a film and has also entered into an agreement with DVV Danayya.
Telugu cinema producers have developed expertise in producing "pan-Indian movies," and they seek talent from the Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries that have broad appeal across India.
Stars from other film industries are willing to adjust their schedules for Telugu production companies, while traditional production businesses and producers in Tamil and other industries are struggling to finance projects comparable to those in Tollywood.
