In South Indian film industry, currently Devi Sri Prasad is third costliest music director after A R Rehman and Harris Jayaraj.
While Rehman takes anywhere from Rs 3.5 Cr to Rs 6 Cr depending on the movie and budget, Harris Jayaraj takes home Rs 3 Cr per movie. Devi Sri Prasad is already charging more than Rs 2.5 Cr.
Buzz is that the star music director has now further hiked the price and is now demanding about Rs 3 Cr.
Devi Sri Prasad who has highest success rate as music director is doing only high-profile movies these days. Except for his close friends like Sukumar and Dil Raju, he is not accepting small movies.
Since A R Rehman is not doing much South Indian movies and Harris Jayaraj has lost his glory, now Devi Sri Prasad is ruling the industry.
Filmmakers are scared to approach him, as he is demanding such huge remuneration. Although he delivers hit numbers and his music gets easily connected to the youth and mass audiences, the makers say his hike of remuneration is too much.
