During that time, he had an affair with a heroine and when the issue became messy, it resulted in bad name for him. Then he started having flops and thus began his downfall.
Though that is the outside story, the inside story is that the hero and his mother were very particular about his remuneration from day 1.
The production house that launched him thought the price they quoted for his first film was way too high. But they insisted on it. Though things came to a point when the production house wanted to call off the project, they continued and completed the film. Luckily for the hero, the film became a hit. Then came more hits and the demands of mother and son increased even more.
And once flops started coming, no one wanted to touch him with a barge pole. Eventually, he stopped getting offers.
Seeing his plight, one of his relatives wanted to make a film with him. When the film had trouble, both mother and son went after the said producer and made sure that he paid them every penny of remuneration promised. Apparently, even today, if one takes the name of the hero, the producer has only cuss words for him.
Well, some say that if the hero managed his career smartly, he wouldn't be seeing such days. However, being a chocolate boy, his career was limited anyways, but he would have at least done many more films in the same genre say industry insiders, if not for his money demands.
