The Congress divided the state and since it has been voted out of power, the onus of developing the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh falls on the Central government.
Even the CM elect Chandra Babu Naidu has pinned his hopes on Central aid. The state will be formally divided on June 2. Since Modi has become the Prime Minister on May 26, the situation remains unclear as of now.
Meanwhile, a popular media baron has taken the initiative and started a campaign to collect donations from the people for the development of a new capital city.
Though a large number of people have responded to his call, individual donations haven’t crossed the Rs 1 lakh mark.
The baron had expected that the film folks would donate large sums for the cause. But the industry is playing safe and till now no actor or producer has come forward to donate a considerable amount.
While the media baron’s efforts are laudable, it is being said that the film folks are expecting the Central government to bail out Andhra people.
