These days, megastar-union minister for tourism K Chiranjeevi has been regularly calling chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and lobbying for the post of Andhra Pradesh State Film Development Corporation.
No, the lobbying is not for his brother-in-law Allu Aravind as everybody might be guessing; but for senior film producer Edida Nageshwara Rao of Shankarabharanam fame. Well, the reasons for recommending Nageshwara Rao's name are known only for him. But, the chief minister is not very keen on this gentleman. He and the information minister D K Aruna have already decided on noted producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja, who is already heading the AP Film Chamber of Commerce for the FDC chairman post.
However, Chiranjeevi is said to be strongly opposing Bharadwaja's nomination because of differences between them. Sources in Secretariat said Kiran had to keep the file on FDC chairman appointment in pending due to tremendous pressure from Chiranjeevi.
