Nannaku Prematho has to take on three opponents for this Sankranthi. With four films sharing the available screens across Telugu states, Nannaku Prematho is not going to get many theaters to cash in on the festive weekend.
However Nannaku Prematho being the early bird has a chance to make the most on its day 1.
Nannaku Prematho is releasing in over thousand theaters in AP and TS on January 13th. It will be down to half the number in the next two days as other festival releases replace it in those theaters.
So Nannaku Prematho may not be able to break the first week records, but it still has a chance to beat the record set by Mahesh Babu with Srimanthudu.
Srimanthudu has collected around Rs. 14.5 crore in Telugu states on day 1. Baahubali holds day 1 record with a share of over Rs. 22 crore.
Beating Baahubali record is a tough ask, so the Young Tiger fans would be looking at Srimanthudu day 1 record as the benchmark.
NTR has the knack of posting big numbers on opening day. With so many expectations riding on Nannaku Prematho, Junior should be able to beat Srimanthudu first day record.
Let's see if he could do it or not?
