Styling has become an essential part of filmmaking in Tollywood. Every major actor and actress is hiring a personal stylist for dressing and hair. Many of these fly down from Mumbai to Hyderabad.
These stylists charge more than one lakh for a single day, and their flight charges and accommodation are an additional expense.
For Ram Charan and Shankar’s pan-Indian film, the hair stylist's bill alone is running in lakhs of rupees. The hairstylist for Ram Charan charges Rs 1.5 lakh each day. Along with him, three assistants come down.
He demands business class tickets and five-star hotel accommodations. By the end of the shooting, the bill may go to the tune of one crore of rupees.
This is not the case with Ram Charan alone. Almost all the leading stars are following the same. Allu Arjun’s “extras” during the making of “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” are being talked about even today in the industry.
