Rajamouli wanted to do a pure commercial film with limited budget and limited working days post Baahubali that took more than five years to complete. But like every Rajamouli’s film it is getting bigger by the day.
Although Rajamouli planned to do a film targeting Telugu market with NTR and Charan, now it is turning out to be another magnum opus from the master filmmaker.
The estimated budget already crossed Rs. 200 crore and it will target other big markets like Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam too.
Rajamouli didn’t want to make something that involves visual effects, but according to latest buzz the multi-starrer also will have lots of CGI and huge sets.
However, it is neither a period drama nor fantasy. It is pure commercial film with contemporary characters and plotline.
Rajamouli had to alter his plans because of the pressure from producers of other languages. They insisted upon making a large scale film like Baahubali as entire Indian cinema trade will be eagerly waiting for his next project.
So everything including working days and budget from the initial estimates has doubled now. Somehow, Rajamouli is maintaining strategic silence over media buzz around the multi-starrer.
