Apparently, there was a hungama during ‘Rakta Charitra’ time that Ramgopal Varma was due to produce the film with Suriya as the hero under the direction of Puri. But during ‘Rakta Charitra’ time, Suriya realised practically that the far he stays from people like Ramu, the better it is for him, so he declined to do ‘The Businessman’.
Mahesh came in Suriya’s place maybe he was thankful that Puri gave a film like ‘Pokiri’ and brought him superstardom. However, film nagar folks say that after ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ if business-wise calculations are to be made then ‘The Businessman’ going to sets is difficult.
