Tollywood star Nagarjuna Akkineni has been in the spotlight recently following the demolition of his N-Convention Center in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA).
The large venue, owned by Nagarjuna, was reportedly involved in allegations of illegal construction within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of Thammidikunta Lake in Madhapur.
The controversy surrounding the demolition prompted Nagarjuna to address the issue on his X account.
According to recent reports, the actor may have incurred a loss of approximately 500 crore due to this incident.
Nagarjuna Akkineni stated that his N-Convention Center adhered to all regulations, while HYDRA maintained that the facility was allegedly illegal.
Sources suggest that the convention center, valued between Rs 400 to 500 crore, was a significant source of revenue for the actor as it was among the most popular venues in Hyderabad.
If these reports are accurate, this could be a significant setback for Nagarjuna Akkineni.
Notably, no major figures from the Tollywood industry have publicly supported Nagarjuna.
In his post on X, Nagarjuna mentioned that news about celebrities is often exaggerated and speculative.
He defended his N-Convention Center, stating it was constructed on land that was Patta-documented and insisted that not even one percent of the land beyond this was encroached upon. He urged his fans not to engage in speculation regarding the matter.
On the professional front, Nagarjuna Akkineni is set to appear in the upcoming film Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film, which also stars Dhanush, recently released its teaser, sparking interest among fans.
Alongside Nagarjuna and Dhanush, Kubera will feature Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
