“KGF Chapter 2” is the latest film that is creating expectations on the level of “Baahubali 2”. The teaser of “KGF Chapter 2” has smashed all records, proving the sequel’s popularity nationwide.
The first part of this movie got released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana like any other dubbed movie without much hype. But it went to rake in big money in the Telugu states. No wonder that the second part has created such hype.
Several Telugu distributors and producers have offered about Rs 50 to 60 crore to snap the rights.
But Hombale Films, the production house behind the “KGF” franchise, is saying no to such offers. The makers want Rs 80 crore for the Telugu distribution rights. The makers are ready to part only distribution rights, no other proprietary rights.
Recovering more than Rs 80 crore from theatrical on this film would be a big gamble. Hence, no Telugu distributor or producer is ready to take that gamble.
Apparently, the producers are now in talks with ace producer Dil Raju to strike a deal for Rs 80 Crore on the agreement that if the film incurs losses, they would payback.
The deal is in the final stage. “KGF Chapter 2” is directed by Prashanth Neel who is now directing “Salaar” with Prabhas.
