Uncertainty looms large over ace director S S Rajamouli’s latest film “RRR,” his biggest venture after Bahubali, with the threat of third wave of Coronavirus creating a scare in the entire country.
Being a big budget film with heavy star cast, the film makers are not able to decide on the exact dates of release, thanks to the pandemic which upset everybody’s calculations.
Initially, the film was planned to be released for Dasara this year, but it is caught in the web of Covid-19. Now the latest talk is, it might be released only in summer 2022.
Though it might not be difficult to release the film by Sankranti festival in January 2022 if the shootings resume in July, the film makers are not willing to take risk and they are said to be planning to release it only in summer 2022.
If the release is planned for Sankranti and if there is a third wave of Covid-19, then the situation will come back to square one. Hence, Rajamouli is said to be of the view that it is better to be prepared for summer.
The predictions of experts about second wave of Covid-19 have been proved true and so, one cannot rule out the possibility of a third wave as well. This is what the RRR film unit is under the impression.
If this talk is to be believed, many others who are planning to release their films by Sankranti are very much relieved.
The remake of Ayyappan, Acharya, Radhe Shyam and Sarkaru Vaari Paata can expect to be released by Sankranti 2022 and make some money.
