Balayya Upset With 'Daku Maharaj' In Nizam?

Balayya Upset With 'Daku Maharaj' In Nizam?

Great Andhra published an article before Sankranthi highlighting the challenges surrounding the release of Daaku Maharaaj.

It was suspected that in the competitive Nizam region, the film would face limited theater allocations due to strong competition.

As anticipated, Asian Suresh Babu, who has a stronger hold in the Nizam region, secured more screens, largely due to Hero Venkatesh being a partner in the group.

Additionally, Dil Raju, the Nizam distributor of Daaku Maharaaj and the producer of his prestigious project Game Changer, prioritized his own film, raising concerns about unequal theater distribution.

Sources indicate that Nandamuri Balakrishna, the star of Daaku Maharaaj, feels the film’s release in the Nizam area was not handled properly.

It was released in only around 180 screens compared to over 250 screens allocated to Guntur Karam, another film produced by the same company.

Despite competition from Venkatesh’s Saindhava and Prashanth Varma’s Hanuman, Balakrishna’s previous film, Bhagwant Kesari, managed to secure more theaters and collected ₹15 crores in the Nizam region.

Daaku Maharaaj has collected ₹10 crores so far and is projected to reach ₹13-15 crores. However, insiders believe that better theater allocation could have added another ₹2 crores to its revenue.
