A rumour has been doing rounds in political and media circles for the last few hours that senior actor and Telugu Desam Party MLA from Hindupur Nandamuri Balakrishna is planning to convert his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad into a huge mall.
According to the talk, Balayya has already signed a development agreement with a prominent builder to convert his house into a massive commercial complex. And the demolition of the existing house for the construction of the mall will begin shortly.
Though it is rather unreliable gossip, one cannot completely rule it out. Balakrishna's house is in a strategic location in the corner of two major roads.
One side, there are several commercial complexes and on the other side, there are residences. His brother-in-law and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has his residence two lanes beyond Balakrishna's house.
So, it is no surprise if Balakrishna gives his house for development into a mall. However, the roads on both sides are already congested and during peak hours, one can witness traffic jams for hours.
Under these conditions, one doubts whether he would get permission for the commercial complex at the corner of two major roads. But given the bonhomie between Naidu and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, anything is possible.
By the way, Balakrishna has several other properties in the twin cities. May be he is planning for a mall in one of those properties. And the gossip might have been created out of this.
