Remunerations of all Telugu stars have increased. Regardless of hits or flops, every star is raising their remunerations with each film.
Even actors who have experienced a string of flops are not reducing their salaries but increasing them further.
So, when actors like Nandamuri Balakrishna, who consistently delivers minimum guarantee results, would they stop asking for more?
Before the release of "Akhanda," Nandamuri Balakrishna was earning a salary of Rs 10 Crore.
After the super hit "Akhanda," he charged Rs 14 Cr for "Veera Simha Reddy." Around the same time, he signed "Bhagavanth Kesari" and agreed to do the film for the same amount.
However, after the release of "Veera Simha Reddy" and its success, the producers of "Bhagavanth Kesari" agreed to pay Rs 18 Cr to Balakrishna.
Now, Balayya is charging a whopping Rs 28 Crore for his next film, which means he raised Rs 10 crore for this movie to be directed by Bobby and produced by Naga Vamsi.
Balakrishna's films are generating a total business (including theatrical, non-theatrical, and other revenues) of Rs 150 crore.
When actors with just 100 crore in business are demanding more than 30 crore, Balayya charging Rs 28 crore is not a burden for the producers.
Among senior stars, Chiranjeevi takes home Rs 50 crore, Ravi Teja demands Rs 24 cr, and Nag and Venky each charge Rs 12 crore.
