Senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who created ripples in the Telugu film industry with his aggressive attack on a “young hero” the other day, came out with an explanation to the media on his comments.
Speaking the poster-release function of his latest film “Srirama Rajyam,” Balaiah warned the “young hero” that he would break his teeth for making humiliating comments against senior Telugu film directors and actors. Everybody in the film circles and the media was aware that Balaiah’s outburst was against young hero Ramcharan Teja who had earlier said Telugu film directors and actors had no guts to do experimental films.
And that led to a sort of bad blood between two different groups in the Telugu film industry, represented by two different communities that have been dominating the field for years. Since his aggressive approach is set to have a cascading effect on the political field as well, Balaiah had to beat a retreat with an explanation on Thursday.
“No, I did not make the comments keeping in view Ram Charan Teja. I enjoy a very good relationship with Chiranjeevi’s family. But he and Mohan Babu are very much aware as to whom my comments are aimed at. I stand by my words, as I don’t tolerate if anybody talks cheaply about Telugu film industry,” Balaiah said.
But his explanation was not convincing, as no young hero, other than Ram Charan Teja, had made the comments against the Telugu film industry. In any case, Balaiah made a desperate bid to end the controversy, but the damage has already been done.
