Remember the film Bejawada Rowdilu? When Varma announced this film, native Vijayawada people vehemently criticized him. Due to pressure from various quarters, Ram Gopal Varma changed the name to Bejawada. But that did not stop him from showing what he intended to show through his film.
Now comes Auto Nagar Surya which is yet another film that revolves around the rowdy politics of Vijayawada.
It seems the makers have dealt with various sensitive issues such as the political situation in Vijayawada 20 years back, the extent of rowdyism back then, the games played by various political leaders in the local politics of Vijayawada, etc.
There are also rumours that Dev Katta has tried to project Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga as a hero with this film.
As per insiders, the film also has some dialogues where a direct and indirect reference to the slain leader is made. Though Ranga is out of picture, rowdyism in Vijayawada has been spreading over the past many years. So, are the makers trying to make money by revisiting this contentious issue?
It is also being anticipated that the film might face censor problems due to the sensitivity of the issue.
Call it coincidence, but Naga Chaitanya happens to be the leading man in both the film that deal with Vijayawada.
