Names like Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, Rashmika Mandanna, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu dominate the list of highest-paid actresses in Indian cinema.
However, one actress has now surpassed them all — and it’s not someone who has been active in the Indian film scene lately.
The actress in question is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, whose last Indian film released in 2019.
After a six-year gap, she's making a massive comeback with two of the most highly anticipated films: SSMB29 with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, and Krrish 4 with Hrithik Roshan.
Priyanka has reportedly already begun shooting for SSMB29, which is yet to be officially announced.
Titled after Mahesh Babu’s 29th film, the project is being directed by Rajamouli — known for blockbuster hits like Baahubali and RRR.
Meanwhile, Krrish 4 will be the fourth installment in the popular superhero franchise and marks Hrithik Roshan’s directorial debut, with Rakesh Roshan and Aditya Chopra producing. It’s expected to begin filming in early 2026.
According to industry sources, the multi-time National Award-winning actress is charging ₹30 crore each for these two films — making her the highest-paid actress in Indian cinema.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “She wasn’t willing to compromise on her fee — and why should she? Why should only male actors earn double-digit salaries?”
Interestingly, Chopra’s fee reportedly surpasses that of several top male actors across various Indian film industries.
