Collections at North American Box-office are continuing to be dull from the last two weeks. After the release of "Ghazi", no film attained decent openings. "Winner", "Yaman" and now last weekend's three new releases flopped miserably.
By end of fourth weekend, Rana's "Ghazi" grossed about $755k. The movie may end its total run with $800k, bringing good profits to the distributors.
On the other hand, last weekend's three releases - Raj Tarun starrer "Kittu Unnadu Jagratha", Vijay Devarakonda's third movie "Dwaraka" and Manchu Manoj starrer "Gunturuodu" have collected below $100k together.
Vijay Devarakonda who scored massive hit with "Pelli Choopulu" that grossed more than 1.2 million dollars in USA has failed to bring in audiences to the screens with "Dwaraka".
As the ratings and word-of-mouth were not positive, it took just $50k (apprx) openings in its first weekend. It is a huge flop.
Dwaraka - Thu: 10,753 Fri: $12,997 Sat: $17,363 Sun: 10k (apprx) Total Weekend Gross: $51k (apprx)
Raj Tarun has delivered many hits in the past but he is not considered hot star in overseas trade circles. Still, his "Kittu Unnadu Jagratha" was released in many numbers of locations. But the movie didn't gross much. It is also a flop.
Kittu Unnadu Jagratha- Thu: $7,356 Fri: $13,945 Sat: $18,961 Sun: 9k Total Weekend Gross: $49k
Manchu heroes always register lowest numbers in USA. Manoj's "Gunturodu" has pathetic collections. It got mere $3k in its entire opening weekend.
