The universally praised “Mahanati” is killing at the North America Box-office.
Compared to recent big movies like “Rangasthalam” and “Bharat Ane Nenu”, the film’s ticket prices were low. Still, it has managed to gross $1.6 million in its first long weekend.
The film was premiered on Tuesday (May 8) and by end of first Sunday, it went past $1.6 million making it a blockbuster already. It is expected to join the coveted $2 million mark by next week weekend.
“Mahanati”, a biopic on legendary actress Savitiri, was directed by Nag Ashwin and it starred Keerthy Suresh in the title role. The film got high ratings from critics and the word-of-mouth is strong.
