Yet another bad weekend for Tollywood at USA box-office. From long time, the American distributors of Telugu films are suffering huge losses as film after film is tanking.
Last weekend, Gopichand’s “Oxygen” and Sai Dharam Tej’s “Jawaan” hit the screens.
As expected “Oxygen” was a complete washout. Gopichand’s films don’t run at American Box-office. His films don’t even register decent openings. “Oxygen”, directed by A M Jyothi Krishna, registered mere $21k (Rs 13.65 lacs) in its opening weekend.
On the other hand, Sai Dharam Tej’s “Jawaan” did perform better. Though the film is not going to reap any benefits, it got about $150k in its opening weekend, which is a decent amount for a Sai Dharam Tej’s movie considering his low start status in USA. This film also registered highest premiere gross in Sai Dharam’s career.
Premiere: $45230, Fri $37936, Sat $42228 Sun: 25k (apprx) Total Weekend: $150834 (apprx)
Siddharth’s “Gruham” also released last weekend in USA but it has failed to make any impact.
