Long back a Telugu film grossed mere 80 dollars. That was the lowest ever collection for a movie in USA market. Now, Puri Jagannadh's "Rogue" also registers similar lowest numbers in USA.
"Rogue" was released on 31st March and in four days, the movie collected gross of mere 330 dollars. Puri Jagannadh's brand name took a beating with this.
Puri is considered as one of the top directors in Tollywood and he charges anywhere from Rs 6 Cr to Rs 10 Cr per film as remuneration.
For "Rogue", he is said to have taken Rs 10 Cr. But returns on the movie are abysmally bad. 330 dollars for four days is a shameful figure.
Although the movie doesn't feature a known star, Puri should command respectable openings at least. Looks like the audiences in USA have totally lost belief in Puri's movies.
