As Tollywood was reeling with series of flops, a small movie with no expectations brought real josh to the box-office.
The film that spurred activity at ticket window is “RX 100”, a raw love story with two newcomers Karthikeya and Payal Rajput as the lead pair.
Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, Ram Gopal Varma’s disciple and produced by Ashok, the love story had a terrific first week.
Although it has not collected much in USA (with less than 100k dollars), in two Telugu states it has raked in more than Rs 7.5 Cr in just one week.
The film’s total budget is less than Rs 2.5 Cr (including production cost, prints and promotion) and it brought profits to all the distributors in its first weekend itself.
