Pushpa 2: 7th Highest-Grossing Indian Film in US

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 continues its stellar performance at the global box office, edging closer to the ₹1300 crore milestone.

In North America (USA and Canada), the film has become the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time in just 11 days, surpassing Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The film is now just $2 million away from hitting its breakeven mark.

Despite facing a major hurdle during its second weekend, with a 50% reduction in the number of theatres, Pushpa 2 held its ground.

Playing in 631 theatres from Friday to Sunday, the film grossed $1.6 million over the weekend, bringing its total North American collection to $13 million (₹110.28 crores) in just 11 days.

To achieve breakeven, Pushpa 2 needs to gross $15 million, meaning it has to add $2 million (approximately ₹17 crores) more to its tally.

While the target seems achievable, the upcoming release of Mufasa: The Lion King on December 20 is expected to significantly reduce the film’s theatre count, potentially affecting its earnings.

Despite this challenge, the film’s director Sukumar and the team have much to celebrate. Surpassing Dangal's $12.39 million, Pushpa 2 has cemented its place as the seventh highest-grossing Indian film in North America.

All eyes are now on whether it can maintain its momentum and reach the breakeven mark in the coming days.
