Brand Rajamouli is bigger than Prashanth Neel. NTR and Ram Charan are bigger stars than Yash.
Rajamouli is the director of all-time-record grosser “Baahubali 2” and he has craze nationwide. But his recent release “RRR” didn’t open big other than in the Telugu states and the USA, compared to “KGF Chapter 2”.
Despite competition with mighty Vijay’s “Beast”, the Yash starrer opened well and received a higher collection than Rajamouli’s “RRR” in Tamilnadu.
“RRR” was released in a huge number of theaters and had no competition at all in Tamilnadu at the time of its release. But it collected less amount than “KGF Chapter 2”.
In Kerala, “KGF Chapter 2” had emerged as the all-time biggest opener beating the records created by Mohanlal movie. The number one place goes to “KGF 2”, and the second position is Mohanlal’s “Odiyan”. “RRR” came nowhere near these movies.
In the Hindi market, “KGF 2” collected about Rs 53.95 crore nett. “RRR”, on the other hand, collected Rs 19.50 crore net. So, “KGF 2” had raked in about three times bigger amount than “RRR” in the Hindi market.
More than the stars and names of the director, the sequels and the blockbuster trailers fetch big money on the first day. It has been proved once again.
