Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam is having an exceptional run at the Indian box office and is well on its way to achieving a massive lifetime total.
Despite releasing alongside two major Tollywood films, this relatively smaller production has defied expectations, surprising both the industry and trade analysts with its outstanding performance.
Within the first week of release, the film emerged as a clean hit, and by day 8, it secured a super-hit verdict, making it Tollywood's first super-hit of 2025.
The success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam has drawn parallels to last year’s Sankranti season, which saw Guntur Kaaram and HanuMan battle it out at the box office.
While Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram opened strongly, it was ultimately overshadowed by the sleeper hit HanuMan.
Similarly, this year, Venkatesh's action-comedy, initially considered an underdog, has outperformed the highly anticipated Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj, delivering impressive numbers.
In just seven days, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has amassed an impressive total of ₹122 crores at the Indian box office.
After a phenomenal opening week, the film needed to maintain its momentum, and it has done just that. On its first Monday, it collected ₹8.40 crores, and on the following day, it added an estimated ₹6.18 crores, reflecting a minimal drop of 26.42%.
With its sustained box office strength and positive word-of-mouth, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is poised for a long and successful theatrical run, further cementing Venkatesh’s standing as a bankable star.
