The BRS MP is none other than B Parthasarathy Reddy of Hetero Group, who is also one of the co-accused in the quid pro quo scam allegedly involving YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Interestingly, it was Revanth Reddy who raised a hue and cry over the allotment of land by the previous K Chandrasekhar Rao government on lease for 30 years on a nominal lease amount of Rs 2 lakh per acre per year.
Soon after coming to power, Revanth Reddy got the GO cancelled on land allocation to the Hetero Group. At a time when everybody was appreciating the chief minister for saving such a precious land in the heart of Hyderabad, he quietly issued a fresh GO on March 14, making small changes in the earlier GO.
According to the modified GO, the land allotment would be made to the Hetero Group on lease for 30 years, but the lease amount was enhanced to Rs 15 lakh per acre per annum.
According to BJP legislative party leader A Maheshwar Reddy, while the BRS Government sought to hand over the land at Rs 2 lakh per acre for a lease period of 30 years when the market value was around Rs 1,500- Rs 2,000 crore, the present government has issued orders to give the same land for ₹15 lakh an acre for the same period.
He alleged that Revanth Reddy is giving flimsy excuses like employment opportunities to hand over the land for a song to the same businessperson and his group, when the government is in a position to earn Rs 1,500 crore at Rs 50.5 crore an acre for a period of 15 years.
“Not even 10% annual hike as mandated has been made applicable. What does this tell us about this government?” Reddy questioned.
