Chicago Telugu Community is vertically spilt once again due to Yugandhar Yadlapati in Chicago. Mr. Yugandhar with hidden and personal agenda (had a great history of witnessing split in TAGC and forming TTA), called for a secret meeting of few of his associates to talk about proposed TANA conference. Chicago Telugu Youth for unity has strongly opposed these actions and asked Mr. Yugandhar to support unity efforts and wait for more time before proceeding. But with utter disrespect to unity of Telugu community, he wanted to proceed in different direction. He has completely ignored the next generation of Telugu People hence causing the vertical split. During this meeting several members remembered the split of TAGC and formation of TTA.
During heavy exchange of words between Yugandhar and next generation leaders, several strong words were used. All young generation members of local Telugu Community walked out of the meeting expressing serious displeasure in front of elders like Dr. Akkeneni. Dr. Akkineni could not stop the split. There was strong resentment amongst next generation leaders because they felt Mr. Yugandhar has been lying and misleading the Community regarding the TANA conference. Youth Team owed that they will take this issue to the door steps of all Telugu Families in Chicago, USA and India, and work aggressively to expose these leaders who want to run TTA and TANA Conference as personal organizations.
Mr. Yugandhar had an utter disregard for unity of Telugu Community and would like to proceed with his personal agendas. TANA and TTA are not for profit organizations and should not be allowed to be used for personal gains. This fight from Telugu Community Youth has upset Mr. Yugandhar and his team. Irrespective of several rumors about 1995 Conference; Chicago Telugu Youth tend to work with Mr. Yugandhar in good spirit. But with his recent unilateral actions and autocratic attitude Mr. Yugandhar wanted the split in community for continuing his personal agenda. People like Uppuluri and Azad supported him.
Now it’s official that Chicago Telugu Community is vertically split and Chicago Telugu Youth is keeping all options open and starting their campaign to share views with all Chicago Telugu Families in next 2-3 weeks. Several next generation community leaders Praveen Moturu, Phani Ramineni, Ravi Achanta, Siva Chowdhary, Mahesh Kakarala, Vijay Ganne, Vijay Venigalla, Krishna Adusumalli, Prasad Talluri, Ramesh, Chaitanya, Praveen K., Sai Nandigam, Rao Achanta, Narendra Ramineni, Rupendra Ramineni, Ram Achanta, Ashok, Shiva Chaitanya, Praveen Sunkara, Krishna Prasad Polavarapu, Amarendra Duggivarapu, Ravi Vala, Srinivas Adusumalli, Dinakar Daniel, Sunil Manakonda, Murthy Koppaka, Venu Koganti, Srinivas Vemuri, Murali Kalagara, Venkat Yalamanchili, Srinivas Achanta, Ram Gummadi, Dasari Niranjan, Subba Rao Madala and many others attended the meeting. Chicago Telugu Youth for unity will announce their next course of action in the coming days. This could lead major split in the Chicago community at all levels and will impact the proposed TANA conference adversely.
