Are you looking for a business idea that can earn you lakhs? Look no further than the humble samosa! This popular Indian snack, typically triangular in shape and filled with a savory filling, has transformed the lives of one entrepreneurial couple, offering a tantalizing appetizer for those looking to follow in their footsteps.
Nidhi Singh and her husband Shikhar Veer Singh decided to forgo high-paying corporate jobs and instead opened a samosa shop in Bengaluru in 2016. They invested their savings to start the venture and soon put in Rs 80 lakh to build a larger kitchen. Today, their outlet, Samosa Singh, sells 30,000 samosas a month, earning a turnover of Rs 45 crore, or nearly Rs 12 lakh per day.
The couple's journey has not been easy, but it has certainly been rewarding. When they realized they needed a larger kitchen, they sold their apartment and used the proceeds to rent a factory in Bengaluru. Today, they earn more from their samosa business than they ever did from their previous jobs.
Shikhar, who holds an MTech from Hyderabad, quit his job as a Principal Scientist at Biocon to pursue his entrepreneurial dream, while Nidhi, who had been working as a Business Development Associate at a Gurugram-based pharma company, also left her job to join her husband in starting Samosa Singh.
Their success story shows that with dedication and hard work, any business idea, no matter how simple, has the potential to take off and transform lives.
