Tendulkar announces IPL retirement

Moments after Mumbai Indians won their first IPL title, Sachin Tendulkar announced he had played his last IPL.

"This is my last IPL," Tendulkar announced casually in a TV interview after the win.

"I think this is the right time to stop playing the IPL. I am 40. Got to accept it. I had decided this was my last season."

Sachin was not part of the playing XI as has a hand injury. He however said he could not wait to lay his hands on the IPL trophy. The master blaster even thanked fans.

"Thanks for everyone for supporting us. Cricket is the true winner," he said.
