TANA Tollywood Hungama Captivates Austin Telugu Community

Austin, TX: Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized "TANA Tollywood Hungama" on Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 at Manor Highschool Performing Arts Center in a grand and pompous style.

This event is organized by the local youth, including TANA NRI Insurance Committee Chair person Murali Thalluri, Sreeverdhan Potavathri, Pravardhan Chimmula, Lenin Thulluri, Kumar Savitala and many other Prominent volunteers.

TANA Team Square South regional Chairperson, Srikanth Polavarapu and Student Services committee’s Chairperson, Samba Dodda provided external support to the Austin organizing team. 

More than 1000 people attended this event and many were unable to attend as the event was filled out a week before. The program was started with a welcome note by TANA US Cultural Chairperson Uma Yalamanchi.

TANA Southwest Regional Representative Dr. Rajesh Adusumilli and Dhim-TANA Chairperson Sarada Akunuri were the MCs for the evening and conducted it flawlessly for over four and half hours. 

This complete entertainment team consisting 15 performers included young and energetic super singers Hemachandra, Sravana Bhargavi, Anjana Soumya. They captured the hearts of the audience with their mesmerizing performances. Multitalented pop-singer Madhoo, comedian Haribabu and TV star Indranil had the crowd in splits with their comedy skits. Heroines Vimala Raman and Sindhu Affan along with local artistes from Austin performed to old and new super hit songs.

Audience across all ages were on their feet singing and dancing throughout the show. “No doubt, this is one of the memorable Telugu events that ever happened in Austin area in recent times” is a widly heard comment among the audience. The audience was spellbound and enjoyed every single moment of the program.

TANA President Mohan Nannapaneni, Past president Prasad Thotakura, TANA Foundation Chairperson Jay Talluri, TANA Treasurer Madhu Tata, Joint Treasurer Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, TANA Foundation Treasurer Manjulatha Kanneganti, Regional Representatives Goutham Gurram, Ravi Potluri along with Chairpersons of various committees and TANTEX President Suresh Manduva attended the event.

TANA President Mohan Nannapaneni gave an impressive speech about TANA Team Square and other services programs of TANA that got tremendous applause and appreciation from the audience. Later TANA Foundation Chairman Jay Talluri garu shared information about TANA Foundation activities in India.

TANA felicitated several respected dignitaries from Austin community, gave appreciation plaques to event sponsors, media partners and performers and extended heartfelt thanks to each and every person who worked diligently to make the event a grand success.
