Elon Musk spent over $290 million (approximately Rs 2,400 crore) on the 2024 U.S. election, as per new federal filings.
His contributions primarily supported Donald Trump and Republican candidates, securing him significant influence in the new administration.
Out of the total amount, around $250 million (Rs 2,070 crore) was directed to America PAC (Political Action Committee), a super PAC Musk created to boost Trump’s campaign.
Additionally, Musk donated millions to other super PACs backing various GOP (Grand Old Party) candidates and provided Rs 8.3 lakh ($10,000) checks to numerous state Republican Party committees.
Musk’s super PAC spent over $50 million (Rs 415 crore) on political giveaways alone.
His strategic donations have earned him a key position in Trump’s administration through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an agency he helped establish. This role is expected to give Musk considerable leverage in shaping government policies.
Musk plans to continue his political involvement, with intentions to invest further through his super PAC in the 2026 midterm elections.
His spending reflects a calculated effort to influence U.S. politics while aligning with his business and ideological interests.
