"Harikrishna has neglected Shalini and has no moral right to ask for votes... The Telugu Desam always evades this issue. So we will take it up” Praja Rajyam leader
The Praja Rajyam, still sulking at the ruckus created by the Telugu Desam over its leader Pavan Kalyan’s “live-in” relationship, has decided to pay back in the same coin by raising the issue of NTR’s son, Mr Harikrishna’s relationship with Ms Shalini.
The party alleges that TD leader Mr Harikrishna has not married Ms Shalini, mother of Junior NTR, and has been maintaining a “live-in” relationship with her.
Praja Rajyam leaders are planning to make it an election issue and raise the demand that Mr Harikrishna marry Ms Shalini.
After TD leaders had made snide remarks about Pavan’s live-in relationship with Renu Desai, the duo got married last month. Now PR leaders want the same kind of “justice” to be meted out to Ms Shalini.
“We will certainly raise this issue,” said Ms Vasireddy Padma, official spokesperson of the party. “They pointed fingers at our leader and repeatedly spoke about Nandini and her divorce with Pavan Kalyan.” Since Pavan had divorced her and married Renu Desai, Mr Harikrishna should declare the status of Junior NTR’s mother in their family, said the spokesperson.
“We will expose them if the TD does not stop making personal remarks against our leaders,” she warned.
The Praja Rajyam leaders said that NTR family has kept Junior NTR and his mother away from the family for many years. In fact, Junior NTR met his grandfather, Mr N.T. Rama Rao, only when he was 11, they pointed out. “Harikrishna has neglected Shalini and has no moral right to ask for votes,” said a Praja Rajyam leader.
“The TD always evades this issue and so we will raise it.” TD leaders and members of NTR family refused to react.
Mr Harikrishna was also not available for comment.
