Covid is still rising. But a section of social media run by TDP is now discussing the phone tapping issue. How serious are the people taking these issues? Greatandhra conducts a random survey and here are a few insights.
"It is needless to say that the media is ruling the people's minds. Whatever we read on social media or dailies, we are getting influenced with it. But we don't have anything personal to think about the phone tapping issue. Whether it is true or false, it doesn't change our life. We are just observing these things as time-pass and nothing serious about these", said Raju, an auto driver in Vijayawada.
While a section of people are taking it as entertainment and nothing else, there is another opinion that shows a different perspective.
"The yellow media is more intended to poison the people's minds with its horrible baseless writings against the YCP Government. Planting the seed of suspicion and nurturing it with discussions on their channels is an age old practice. How come the phone tapping issue surfaced suddenly? It is nothing but an act to divert Ramesh Hospitals issue. Yes, when something bad is happening to them or their friends, they can divert the issue with some sensational banner story", says Tripura Sundari, a lecturer from Kurnool.
On the other hand, some opinions are like predictions. Here comes one.
"The topic of phone tapping will end in a day or two. The idea of TDP is only to throw mud and keep silent. Had they really had evidence they would do it as a movement against the government. But they know what they should do. They allege and go silent", an employee from SBI, Vizag says.
"I am a TDP sympathizer. The common people understand what is happening around and finally the TDP and their news dailies become fools. Already the news paper AndhraJyothy has killed TDP's glory with its cock and bull stories against YCP and over praising Chandrababu for many years. I don't understand why it is still continuing the same even in these bad times. Focussing on the topics of loopholes in people's welfare and lack of development is needed now for the opposition party, but not these unbelievable issues", says Ranjitha Surapaneni, a home maker from Gannavaram.
"TDP has killed the might of the media by spreading the yellow fever for decades together. Now they are in the process of maligning the judiciary as well. I cannot say more than this", says Nagapal Srinivas, a teacher from Srikakulam.
To sum up, the phone tapping issue is not showing much impact on the people's mind sets and majority are taking it as a cooked up story.
