Paatasala launched for 10 Centers in USA

Paatasala launched with Saraswathi Puja in 3 locations on auspicious Vijaya Dasami Day for 10 Centers in USA

Paatasala, an initiative of Telugu Times, is started with Saraswathi Puja in 3 locations namely a)Fremont Hindu Temple, Fremont, California, b) SV Lotus Temple, Fairfax, Virginia and c)  Compugra office, South Plainfields, New Jersey on the auspicious Vijaya Dasami day, 13 October 13 for 10 Learning Centers and over 100 NRI Telugu students to begin with.

Ms Anu Natarajan, Fremont City Vice Mayor who came as Chief Guest for Fremont event congratulated and appreciated Paatasala & BATA (Associate in Bay Area) for their efforts to impart the language of mother tongue, and released the text book, Telugu Paluku book I. Dr Ramesh Japra, Chairman, FIA and Ms Lili Mei, Board Trustee, Fremont School District congratulated the team for PAATASALA Initiative.

Mr Jayaram Komati, Chairman, Telugu Times said that the concept of developing Paatasala- an infra structure to teach Telugu to NRI children  is  again with a service motto and is not a commercial preposition and requested the community to avail the facility and make it a success and at the same time encourage their children learning Telugu reading and writing.

Mr Subba Row Chennuri, Managing Director-Paatasala has said that 10 Paatasala centers are being launched today (13 Oct 13) as a beginning with 5 centers in Bay Area, 4 Centers in Washington DC area and 1 center in New Jersey and there are several other centers in various stages of the process. He said they are taking the help and support of Telugu Associations in starting and managing Paatasalas and thanked BATA, GWTCS which came forward to support Paatasalas in their areas.

Mr Subba Row also explained that Paatasala offers a systematic three semester per year and a four year course and is developing one Text book for each semester as the syllabus and guidelines followed by any University.

The courses are named as Telugu Paluku, Telugu Adugu, Telugu Parugu and Telugu Velugu as the stages of any growing kid. Telugu Paluku is developed very attractively to the kids with English sub titles which is perhaps the first time in Telugu elementary school books history. Paatasala also offer eLearning support which is a password protected exclusive facility to the students of Paatasala.

Mrs Vijaya Aasuri, Adviser - BATA said that teaching will be conducted with fun and making interesting to the kids. Dr Ramesh Konda, Past President, BATA and Director Paatasala has introduced the teachers and coordinators for all the 5 centers in Bay area. Dr Geetha Madhavi, Teacher specialist, who is currently giving orientation to other Teachers of Paatasala has conducted the Saraswathiand Ganesha prayers. Slates were distributed to all registered students and the temple priests who performed the Saraswathi Puja conducted the ritual of tracing the first letter Om by all students.

In a similar way, Greater Washington Telugu Cultural Society (GWTCS), Washington DC area conducted the PAATASALA Launch for 4 centers in SV Lotus Temple, Fairfax, Virginia on Vijaya Dasami day (13 Oct 13) where after the Saraswathi Puja by priests, Telugu Paluku books are distributed to students.  Mr Ravi Gourineni, Director-Paatasala welcomed the guests and parents and explained about Paatasala. Mr subba rao Kolla, Vice President-GWTCS, Mr Ramesh Annamreddy, CEO- Sneha TV, Mr Ravi Aharam,Chairman- SV Lotus Temple appreciated the team for Paatasala initiative.

Mr Ram Vedantham, CEO, Compugra Systems Inc, who is also coordinating Paatasala in New Jersey area and starting the 1st center in his office in South Plainfield has welcome all the guests and parents for the Paatasala launch function. Mr Hari Eppannapalli, Vice president of Financial Policy Council, Coordinator for Lead India 2020 in USA, who came as Chief Guest has inaugurated Paatasala by cutting the ribbon and then giving away the books to students has appreciated the efforts made by Mr Ram Vedantham in creating a Paatasala infrastructure. Mrs Manju Bhargava, President, TFAS, Mr Srinivas Gaagoni, NATA and other important people from New Jersey area attended the event.
