A Tamilian who lives in Madurai talk a totally different Tamil than what a fellow lives in Chennai and again the Tamil spoken in Tanjavore area is no way close to these two people speak. And for that reason there are atleast 6 to 7 Tamil accents prevail in just Tamil Nadu alone apart from Tamil accents around the world. But still all Tamils feel they are one irrespective of their accent, region, religion or the part of the world they live in.
Same way Malayalam has lots of different accents in Kerala alone.
The Kannada spoken in the erstwhile Nizam state areas like Gulbarga, Bidar and Gangavati is totally contradictory to the accent to those who speak in Mandya, Bangalore and Mangalore districts. But all Tamils, Kannadigas and Malayalees are united irrespective of their accents. The love towards their language and culture of the Tamils went too far of demanding a separate country including the Northern Srilanka where Tamils are in majority. The Tamils whole heartedly supported the violent struggle by the LTTE with a sole motive of forming a Tamil Country at some point of time. Where as we Telugus though we have a rich culture, language and heritage always fight each other for something or the other. Result we Telugus are looked down in the eyes of fellow Indians and every other non Telugu person, politician or historian took advantage and tried to divide us so that as a community we can't grow.
The first such politician who tried to divide Telugu people was Jawaharlal Nehru who planted the seeds of hatred by passing a comment that if Telugu people who lived in erstwhile Nizam state join with the Telugus of Madras state they would suppress these people. Taking the advantage of the nature of infighting amongst us Raja Gopala Chary successfully grabbed Madras (now Chennai) from us in connivance of Nehru. There can be thousand points to prove that Madras belongs to Telugus but not even one proves otherwise. Indirectly the Tamils admitted that Madras city belongs to Telugus by re-naming the city after a Telugu ruler Chennapa Rayudu as Chennai. Because of the ill plan of Nehru and Rajagopala Chary we lost several Telugu areas like Bellary, Ganjam, Berhampore, Dharampuri and Madras which are legally or otherwise should go Telugus.
As always it is our own people who back stab us, at the time of states reorganization the Telugu leaders at that time signed documents agreeing to lose these areas to neighboring states. But due to relentless efforts of leaders like Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Madapati Hanumantha Rao and many others just to name a few a unanimous resolution was passed in the then Hyderabad State Assembly join other Telugu region which broke up from Madras Presidency to form into a single Telugu state so that all Telugus will have an identity around the world.
As normally happens the politicians always play a foul sport to just satisfy their personal agenda started sowing seeds of hatred amongst us.
The first such one was Marri Chenna Reddy in 1969. Every single Indian knows that Chenna Reddy was barred by the Supreme Court for six years from contesting any kind of election on the grounds of malpractices during his election to Loksabha. As everybody knows Chenna Reddy was of a nature who can’t sit idle for six long years so he took up the Telangana agitation and whipped up the regional sentiments. The moment when his six years ban was over took up the Governorship of UP and dumped the Telangana agitation. He later went on to join the Indira Congress and later became C M of Andhra Pradesh. Because of his political game some 500 innocent people lost their lives. Now after 40 years the same game started all over again by KCR. It is a known fact that KCR was a very happy person as long as he enjoyed plum posts in the TDP. The so called backwardness of Telangana region came to his mind only when he lost his ministry to Vijayarama Rao who also happens to be a Telangana man belongs to the same caste Velama.
The official statistics show the so called backwardness of Telangana is only a big hoax and far from truth. If at all any region which grew fast and big way in these 54 years of existence of Andhra Pradesh is Telangana region. The book by Nalamotu Chakravarty My Telugu Roots details how Telangana developed in these years and how detrimental to Telugus more specifically to Telangana region if state is divided.
http://www.myteluguroots.com/ Like Nehru and Rajagopala Chary conspired in 1950’s now some non Telugu forces at National level or I would even say at International level are conspiring to divide the Telugus and Teluguland into several pieces so that other linguistic states mainly in southern India can play a major role in National politics and grab major National projects to their states. The first such one in line would be Tamil Nadu. That’s the reason Chidambaram over reacted to the fake hunger strike by KCR and announced the process for formation of Telangana state. Time has come that all Telugus around the world to realize what ever may be the differences we have amongst us but at heart we are all one and let no force on this planet can divide us.
I appreciate the way Telugus around the world positively reacted to the call to vote for pride of Telugus Sreeram in the Indian Idol5 contest. But for the united effort of the Telugus around the world Sreeram couldn’t have made it to the crown of IndianIdol5. It is a must for every Telugu person to read the book My Telugu Roots and know the facts and false propaganda by politicians for their self vested interests. Since now the Telugu translation is also available it is more easy to understand the truth. I feel sorry and surprised why even till this day either print, electronic media or even www.greatandhra.com has not covered this most important book. Long Live Telugu Long Live Teluguland.
