Movement for United Andhra in Washington DC

A strong united front was displayed at the capital city of Washington DC by NRIs. The activists gathered infront of the Gandhi statue near the Indian Embassy Office. Despite the 3 degrees celsius cold weather and the lack of police permission for the gathering, the group showed their protest on the current developments in Andhra.

This event was organized by local leaders, Satish Vemana, Dr.Hema Prasad Yadla, Dr.Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Narendra Reddy Eluru, Trilok Kantheti, Praveen Kondaka and Pradeep Gourneni.

The event started with the statue of Gandhi being bathed in milk (palabhishekham) and praying him for a United Andhra.Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Satish 

Vemana Satish called for the Telugus in the state to be united as the 6 lakh NRIs here in the United States and not cause a heartbreak for Mother of Telugu(Telugu Talli).

Naming himself a volunteer in the big United Andhra movement, he asked his fellow telugus to look beyond segregation and stand-up for a United Andhra. He announced that the movement will not stop until division of Andhra is stopped.

Dr.Hema Prasad Yadla said certain hard-core politicians have been the main cause of the current outbursts in the state while history of telugus was 3000 years old.

Selfish political agendas cannot shake the history of our Telugu Talli. Dr.Pemmasani pleaded not to divide Andhra whatever situation arises.The organizers presented a memorandum pleading a United Andhra to the Indian Ambassador Mr.Meera Shankar, to the CM of Andhra Pradesh Mr.Rosaiah and to the Prime Minister of India Mr.Manmohan Singh.

Kishore Chennupati, Srinivasulu Reddy somavarapu, Krishnamohan Boppana, Subbarao Kolla, Dr.Naren Kodali, Anand Mokati, Eswar Gude, Krishnamohan Surapaneni, Madhu Bellam, Srinivas Palakurti, Chaitanya Botta, Madhu Bellam, Malladi Srinivas,Mohan Kanala, Vijay Gudiseva thanked fellow telugus for their dedication for United Andhra.
